Since the previous 2 weeks back, we had this A/M sub-comm meeting and decided on doing a Maid & Butler Cafe thingy, i was thinking for those who needs an outfit and wants to make one on their own... shall we like get together and do the sewing/designing?
(actually it's that i want to make one on my own but i don't really know tailoring and sewing of a whole clothing very well, and i hope someone could guide me to that ^^; )

Just asking first, anybody else wants to do this? 83

I hope to start early so we don't have to rush and do last minute work again...
This Maid Cafe idea has always been a dream for JCG (or A/M) people for GENERATIONS!!
And this time we shall try to make it come true shall we!! XD

Just saying lah, even if the thing doesn't get through, like can't book the venue or etc factors, you still have your very own maid/butler outfit that might be useful someday right?

well.. if u set up the cafe during lets say banzai bazaar.. it will definitely attracts crowds cos its a weekday.. it will fail badly if its on a weekend.. n also, it would be best if u can do in the open space beside library cos ppl will walk past n see wats going on.. but whether tt location can be booked or not im not sure XD set up like curtains etc will be cute and prevent public from taking photos.. juz my suggestions =D

another thing to add would be would ur meido fuku be the same for all or will all "maids" be wearing seperately?

About the venue actually...i don't really know how it's possible to have a "cafe" beside the library. I was guessing they might use classrooms, so that we could accomodate the cuisine people in their "kitchen" (like during Halloween?), and with the help of early publicity, it could attract people who are interested or curious to come...?

The maid fuku... i do hope that we could do something like "maids of different kind and personality" but if it's too hard on our people then we might as well have it in a consistant design, like a uniform?

another factor u may wanna consider having it at the classroom.. will people go there or not.. u will need alot of publicity on that.. if best.. bring potential customers to the place.. or get like 2 "maids" walk ard the school then give out flyers etc actually i still think people will be too "shy" to come in.. n TP people other than us.. arent really into the anime culture..

i still think its best to hold the event during banzai bazaar... thou u will need to have alot of helpers.. tts where u can recruit all the normal members come in n help.. give them seal points for helping or wat.. if they screw ur event, u fuck them up =D

meido fuku is up to u all decide ba.. thou having the same design would be better.. its a maid cafe afterall.. same design different colour would be acceptable.. unless u're toking abt cosplay cafe.. then every1 wears their own costume n STAY IN CHARACTER. if u're cosplaying as a haruhi, then god damn be a super tsun haruhi

But it's not possible to hold it in a classroom on weekdays during school hours right? So, if it is held during the banzai bazaar, will there be a big enough space for us if it is in the open air area?

And I agree with Nakuru that all the costumes should have the same design.

Another question, what kind of food will be served? I hope it won't be the limited menu kind like the halloween events.

ahhhhhhhhhhh i have something to say: WOT

Costume:

if best all the same then maybe we can mass order the same design from somewhere...
if different then we may have to ask our maids and butler to act differently in terms of personality or actions :D tsundere, yandere, dramatic, hyperactive, emo, blur etc......like that then we have to research on our own and make them ourselves.......:(

venue
outside library we can make it an open air cafe.....just set up some tables and let the customers sit on an area near the library :D but issue is people will walk through the area to go to the other side and make things very messy for us....
i prefer a classroom so that we can have one to prepare the food, a resting area for the people and a 2-combine-into-one classroom for the cafe....everything would look nicer but people will have difficulty finding the place....maybe some butler escort??? :D

Food
maybe asking cuisine to help us, otherwise AM will have to cook the food themselves..MENU no decided yet...
I WAN TO MAKE MY HARSH LOVE MANGO PUDDING!(red dragonfruit in the mango pudding :D, but in large quantity is hard :()

Date and time is not yet decided but best if it is during lunch period or something :D

publicity....the usual flyers and posters....maybe we can ask for a sound system and make some noise for the event????

I WAN TO TAKE PART IN THIS EVENT AS A BUTLER.....:D I TOTALLY SUPPORTS THIS IDEA!!!!11 AND I WAN A BUTLER UNIFORM!!!

problem with open air cafe is people will juz take photo w/o coming in.. cos i was thinking of charging the people who take photo with the meido / butlers like say at $5? (we need a polaroid camera for this) feeding service at $2? just like how an authentic meido cafe operates.. hanging curtains at the area will be able to block the public from anyhow take photo.. using translucent material eg organza? in this way they can see wats going on yet not be able to take photos.. =D

costume wise... it doesnt really matters what is the meido's personality (tsun / gong / blah blah) we shld design our own costume and "logo" n print on the uniform to show it belongs TPJCG LOL~ we need a theme thou..

in this kind of event, its best the whole TPJCG (main comm do overall coordination, sub comm leader take charge of his/her own section eg anime & AE - cosplay / serving / performance?; cuisine - cook.)

menu wise.. its best theres 2 to 3 of each course.. main course (omu rice [can design using ketchup or chilli] / curry rice) desserts ( caramel pudding / wateva other japanese desserts ) drinks.. etc etc etc.. having too much on the list will juz kill every 1 working.. keep to the least number of food possible..

sound system is not really wise since we're beside a library.. we can lower the volume thou.. depends on the sch management..

i can help out.. but i sux in serving people =D

I guess we can have wayne crossdress or something. He does have the physique.

But his voice...

*shift eyes*

anyway i think it's a pretty good event? I can't really cook much but I can contribute somewhat here and there, maybe as the cleaner.

I think crossdressing is not really appropriate, it will bring about a bad image for the club.

And I do agree that if this were an event where all 3 subcomms were to work together, it would be doable at the very least.

But for the the open air cafe idea, I don't think outside or near the library would be a good idea. There is just too much crowd which will not be very good for the ambience and it is a little small. I wonder if there's a slightly bigger venue in school that we can use for this?

Our leaders has already stated very clearly: NO CROSSDRESSING XD
So don't worry that something might burn your eyes XDDDD
(though i think that a girl dressing up as a guy will be quite cool... like a bishie~~~)

Venue wise, i believe it will be discussed on meetings someday after the exams... so i have no comment for now ^^

Remember, the objective of this cafe thing is to showcase the Japanese culture and also to let people here understand and experience the culture of meido/cosplay cafe >:3

The open air cafe is a good idea...but it is nearly impossible for us to book a venue other than the classroom...and about the date wise...it would definetly have to be a weekend because we will not be able to apply for LOA...

Back to topic...we should really start on those outfit...will be disscussing on this further at the next meeting. It'll be held after exams.

Actually i personally prefer it to be on weekends, even though there will be this "coz it's weekend so don't bother going" bunch of people...but come on, if you are interested or curious enough, nothing can stop you from coming just because it's a weekend right? Plus on weekdays people are usually not really in the mood for these fun stuffs. :3
